The Italian food in the castle restaurant was delicious, the breakfast was good, and service was attentive and genuinely friendly throughout. Schloss Hotel Kommende is a beautiful historic building, a dream for someone like me who loves castles. I wanted to stay there during my two-day Bonn trip. The rooms were clean but a little dated, which didn’t bother me and seemed to suit the place. The castle felt incredibly romantic in the evening when the lights went down. I fell for it as soon as I arrived and even imagined having my wedding there, though I ended up choosing Santorini. It still holds a special place in my heart. The hotel is a bit outside the city centre, so I’d recommend having a car, but the peaceful, charming setting made that a small trade-off.

The bed was very comfortable, and I liked how clean the room was and how nice it smelled. The staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was pretty good too. The rooms are quite small and a little cold, though not a major issue. The furniture was very old and scratched, and it was falling apart.

My room, nr24, was lovely, with a great view over the city at sunset. The service was attentive and very friendly. You’ll feel like royalty!

We had lunch here with business partners. The terrace is really nice, the view is great, and the service was friendly. But the fish hadn’t been cleaned properly, with some entrails still under the filet. The waiter prepared it, and for a restaurant in this price range, that’s unacceptable.

I booked a room for a business trip, but the one they gave me looked nothing like the pictures here. It was in the tower by the yard gate, and it was horrible: cold and noisy from the Motorway outside. This is the worst hotel I’ve stayed in Germany. I’m not sure it’s even legal to offer rooms like that. If you book here, you’ll be ripped off. I’m attaching photos to show where they may put you.
