Gasthaus zum Kranz

We arrived while passing through on a bike tour, without a booking. They had a garage where we could lock up our bikes safely, and gave us a great room that felt more like a small suite. There was a separate bathroom and a sofa bed for another guest in the corridor. The WiFi was available, and the TV was decent with the usual channels, all in German. It was very clean, and the bathroom had a great shower with plenty of hot water and a window, which you don't always get. The food and service were decent. The menu was typical German fare, a little heavy for my taste, though that's what you'd expect somewhere like this. For two people, water and three beers, we paid under 40 euro. We'd definitely recommend the place. One drawback: the walls really are thin. You can hear people in the next room clearly. Fortunately, our neighbours were quiet.

A lovely, very typical place with a welcoming atmosphere, good for families, groups, or card players. The dishes were excellent and cooked with real care, all at very reasonable prices.

The staff are lovely, the rooms are clean and nice, and breakfast is good. It's a really nice guest hause. Just avoid a window facing the Rathaus if you're a light sleeper, since the bell rings every half hour.

I spent a week here on a business trip. It's a nice old hotel, decent enough, though I don't know whether it's cheap. The walls are very thin, so you can hear whatever people in the next room are doing.
