The best. I’d give it 10 stars.

The setting is lovely, no question, but we had a bad stay and won’t be back. Our room felt dated, especially the worn mattress. The recycling bins in the hallway were quite full, with cotton wool and cigarette butts among the paper waste. There was construction noise in the afternoon, too. Sunday breakfast was the last straw. We were squeezed around a small table with strangers while the large room next door sat empty. We asked the hostess about several things, including whether anything could be done about the construction noise. She offered a €40 credit toward a future stay. We definitely won’t be using it.

The location was quiet and really nice, and we stayed five nights in two rooms with breakfast. The rooms were okay, though the bathroom only had a shelf and no shower. We also occasionally had no electricity in our room in the evenings. We made coffee in the guest kitchen every morning, and the hosts were friendly and very talkative. Breakfast was the main disappointment. It was the same discount-store sausage, cheese, and juice each day. We didn’t enjoy the coffee or the pre-baked rolls, and the eggs were always hard-boiled. It’s a shame there wasn’t a regional breakfast with products from a nearby butcher or bakery. I can recommend the guesthouse, but not the breakfast.

We had a lovely weekend and felt at home right away, thanks to the incredibly friendly hosts. The breakfast was excellent, too. We’ll definitely come back.
