Vienna House Thüringer Hof Eisenach

Breakfast had a good, reasonably sized selection, and there's a pleasant terrace outside the hotel. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with plenty of parking and a handy city location. The atmosphere was lovely, and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Dinner at the restaurant was a welcome treat after a tiring travel day, and the bar was well stocked. We had three lovely nights at the beautiful Thüringer Hof, right in the heart of Eisenach, and getting there by car or train was easy. Our room was comfortable and quiet, with a roomy bathroom, both a bath and shower, and lots of hot water. Breakfast each morning was generous, with something for everyone. The staff we met were extremely friendly and helpful. We could communicate in English at the hotel and almost anywhere in town.

The staff were easily the best part of our stay: friendly, capable, and courteous, which I find rather unusual in Germany. The room was quiet and clean, but the beds were low quality and hard, with springs you could feel. There was no branded shampoo or shower gel, and the TV was tiny. Breakfast didn't offer much choice, though what was available was reasonably good. For the price, I don't think it was a great deal.

The location is good and the hotel is okay. The staff were polite, even before breakfast hours ended. Mr. Florian at reception was especially nice and helpful. I'd recommend it.
