Hotel Tide 42

The spa gardens were only about a four-minute walk away, which worked really well for us with our dog, and town and the beach were close too. We felt at home straight away in the bright, modern ground-floor junior suite. It was spacious and very clean, with a terrace, small sink, fridge, and coffee and tea facilities. The bathroom had plenty of room, a large walk-in shower, and underfloor heating that we especially liked. We also opted for breakfast and were glad we did: lots to choose from, fresh fruit salad, and eggs cooked to order. We had a warm welcome and would happily come back.

We found this little B&B ideal for a short break on Borkum. It’s quiet but easy to get to, and the setting is lovely. The rooms are modern and nicely furnished, and the management were very friendly and ready with helpful tips. Breakfast was delicious, with everything we could want, and there’s a place to leave bikes right by the entrance. Service was excellent throughout.

Tide42 is close to the station and just a few minutes on foot from the town center, but it’s still very peaceful. The breakfast was generous and tasty, and the service team were so friendly and attentive. We really enjoyed our stay and would love to book Tide42 again on our next trip to Borkum.

The bathroom was the one small letdown: no window, and the fan didn’t seem to move any air. The hotel is quiet, though a bit of a walk from the beach and other attractions. We like walking, so that didn’t bother us, and we’d gladly stay again. Our double room felt almost like a small apartment, with a bedroom, anteroom, bathroom, two comfortable armchairs, a fridge, and a kitchenette with a Senseo coffee machine. It was easy to spread out. The rooms are modern by Borkum standards but still comfortable. Getting the keys from the machine was simple, as reception only opens in the morning. Breakfast was a real highlight, small but excellent. There was fresh bread in several varieties every day, cold cuts, and daily extras such as stuffed eggs, salmon, and meat salad. They’ll also make fried or scrambled eggs on request. The staff were friendly and helpful, and we felt very comfortable during our four nights.
