The beds were rock-hard, and the decor had a DK 70s/80s feel. The apartment was dark, sad, worn, messy, dirty, and crammed with all kinds of objects in cupboards and drawers. At least the location had some good points. A beautiful park with a good playground is 50 meters away, and a nice swimming pool with an outdoor pool is two buildings over. The internet was good once we finally found the Wi-Fi code. There’s also a lovely, large balcony with sun from the morning until about 18:30.

The landlord suddenly asked for 17% more than we had agreed. The apartment was dark and worn out, and dirty, with lots of broken things. There was also a dog in the apartment above that barked constantly. Clearly the worst place I’ve ever stayed in the Harz.

We had excellent communication with the landlord. The holiday home is beautiful, modern, and fully equipped, with room for two and up to four people.
