We found the place relaxing and good value, and I’d come back. The restaurant staff were friendly, quick and clearly not stretched too thin. The food had plenty of flavor, which isn’t always true at German hotels. Our room was spacious with a nice balcony, and the sauna area was good, if a little small for the hotel and its opening times. The main frustration was the spa schedule. The sauna only runs from 17:00 to 22:00. We asked about going earlier, since it says access is available on request, but that was refused because of the economic situation. It’s a bit awkward that the sauna opens around the same time as the restaurant and bar, so everyone arrives at once and it gets very crowded, with too few places to rest. That’s not ideal with corona and all that. Lots of things are by request, including bathrobes and sauna towels. I believe cleaning happens now and then even if you don’t ask, but we weren’t there long. The gym key is also on request, so I wondered whether the machines are looked after very well. There was no minibar, and it would have been nice to have even a bottle of water and cola in the room. Room service is available, though I didn’t try it. The bar opens at 20:00 and is closed all day Sunday. Since the spa, dinner and bar are all open at the same time, you have to plan around them. For the price, the experience was just right, with what you need and not many extras. The hotel rates are more than fair for what’s provided, so I can understand some cost saving here and there.

We had a really enjoyable weekend. The restaurant staff were so welcoming and friendly. The pool was very quiet when we went, with no screaming kids, which was a relief. We also liked the bar and its big range of cocktails.

The staff were excellent and did all they could to make sure things were right. My single room was smallish but adequate, and the hotel is about a ten-minute walk from town. A great hotel.

Breakfast was great, though the hotel itself was simply good. I’d skip the buffet dinner.
