I found a comfy single room for two nights after a spontaneous 450 km motorcycle ride to the Harz, ending up in Braunlage by chance. The tourist information office was already closed, so I called this guesthouse after finding it online and was lucky to get a room. The hostess greeted me warmly and showed me where to store the bike, the well-stocked guest fridge in the hallway (which happened to have my favorite beer), and my room. I also enjoyed sitting on a bench in the garden. The mattress was pleasantly firm, and the location made for a good night's sleep. The only downside was the rather small bathroom, though it did the job. Each morning I was served a different, tasty and plentiful breakfast at my table. I felt very comfortable at Pension Angela and really enjoyed the break. The price was good too. Maybe this won't be my last trip to the Harz.

Angela and Torsten were such friendly hosts, and they made me feel looked after, answering questions and helping with requests. Breakfast was delicious and generous, a lovely way to start the day. The guesthouse has simple rooms and a charming garden beside the Bode River, right in central Braunlage. That kind of warm welcome is rare. I highly recommend it!

We really love the place's particular charm and all the little details. The hosts are warm and always ready to help, and breakfast is fantastic. If you want a modern feel, this probably isn't for you, though honestly the Harz may not be the place for that anyway ;-) One tip: Kristalltherme Altenau (Altenau Crystal Spa).

The rooms are perfectly fine, nothing fancy, but they have everything you need. The hosts are incredibly kind and do their best to meet every request. Breakfast is generous and nicely laid out. Definitely recommend it :)

Breakfast was delicious and presented so nicely, and we'd happily recommend the guesthouse. We were greeted very warmly by the owner, a kind and lovely hostess who always seemed ready for a little joke.
