Weisse Düne

The complimentary breakfast each morning was the highlight. The spread was amazing, with coffee and hot tea, juice, lots of breads and German brotchen, cheeses, meats, eggs, salmon cream cheese, bagel lochs, jams, fresh seafood toppings, tomatoes, cucumbers, and melon. I wish breakfasts in the US would take a lesson from it. Even after breakfast closed at 11am, we could get water, soda, beer, or wine from the dining area and leave a note to pay at checkout. My mother and I shared a room for her birthday two weeks ago, and had a wonderful time. We had a great view over the city, including the lighthouse and train station, and enjoyed people watching day and night. We even heard the church bells on Sunday and Wednesday. The room had a little refrigerator, and we picked up snacks and drinks from local grocery stores for the evenings. We kept the windows propped open, and the cool fresh air at night and in the morning was wonderful. The bathroom was spacious, with a tall wall heater that also worked as a rack for warming and drying clothes and towels. Each morning, the room was cleaned, the trash taken out, and fresh towels left for us. The whole island was lovely, with so much to see and do within walking distance, plus lots of cafes, shops, and restaurants. The little train to and from the two-hour ferry ride was sweet, and everyone on the island was kind and adorable. It was the perfect vacation for me in the US and my mother in Germany. I was sad to leave and can’t wait to come back.

Our room was really large, clean, and had a comfortable bed. The staff were lovely, and service was very good. Breakfast was delicious with lots of choice.

The hotel and room felt cozy and old-fashioned, and everything was clean. We were there for the 80th Doctors' Week. Breakfast was generous and delicious, and the staff were very friendly. Darek especially stood out: always smiling, helpful, and dedicated, with a good humor that rubbed off on everyone. We’d love to return!
