Villa Tannerhof

We couldn’t think of a single thing to complain about, and would love to return. We were there for a short weekend, Friday to Sunday, and were welcomed warmly at the entrance even though we arrived much earlier than planned. The hotel and parking were both very easy to find. We went straight up to our room after the greeting and got a quick tour. It was comfortably warm and had thoughtful touches, a cozy sitting area, a comfortable double bed, and a private bathroom. The decor made it feel like home right away. In the hall and living area there was a fridge with a freezer compartment, a Senseo coffee machine, games, blankets, and plenty of other useful details. We also got great tips for outings and sights in the area. Breakfast was generous, with a beautifully set table and everything we could want. The owners were especially lovely, friendly and helpful, always ready to listen. Pure luxury!

The rooms are a little dated, but they’re clean and comfortable. The house itself is an old villa in a quiet part of Braunlage, with parking in the courtyard. Our hosts gave us a really warm welcome. Breakfast is arranged in advance, and each morning it was fresh and beautifully presented. We had everything we needed, and got excursion tips every day. They even lent us cushions for watching the Harz Falcons ice hockey game. In the hallway there’s a kettle, tea, a coffee pod machine with coffee, cutlery, and two refrigerators. Downstairs, there are games, books, and apparently a foosball table or something similar. We’ll be back.

The hosts were incredibly friendly and did all they could to make everyone happy. Breakfast was fabulous, and the house itself is wonderful, with lovely rooms in a stunning setting. Highly recommended!

The farewell at Villa Tannerhof is something we’ll remember: we got photos and took part in a little raffle, then were given two candles and matches. We were asked to light them when home alone and call our partners to talk about our lovely weekend in the Harz Mountains. Such thoughtful little touches mean more than anything else. Thank you again for a wonderful stay. From the warm welcome, we felt like we were visiting friends. The hospitality was as good as it gets, and we felt very comfortable throughout. Breakfast was superb and plentiful, and they always asked if we wanted anything else or had suggestions. The hosts anticipated our needs, and we even talked about personal things.
