The restaurant run by the hotel is fabulous, with fine dining. The owners and staff were friendly and accommodating, and the rooms were clean and spacious, bathrooms included. It felt like a home away from home. The hotel is downtown, within walking distance of shops, a park, and a cafe, and close to the lake.

The fish with blood pudding sounded odd, but it worked beautifully. The homemade chocolate mousse was a treat, and you don’t see that very often these days. The restaurant changed hands a few months ago, and I’m glad it did. The food is excellent for very reasonable prices. The menu has enough choice without being overloaded, and it makes good use of local ingredients. Portions are generous, as you’d expect in the countryside. The interior is well kept, though it hasn’t been fully modernised yet. The new owners have good taste, so I expect that may happen eventually. Definitely recommended.

We came across this Michelin-recommended restaurant by chance and were welcomed with an amuse-bouche that the chef served himself in the kitchen. We chose the nine-course surprise menu, and every course was a delight to look at and eat. The changing combinations of flavors and ingredients kept impressing us. The wine pairings were wonderful too, though they should also be available by the glass. A really lovely experience, highly recommended.
