The location was great, and our room on the fourth floor was clean and functional, though small for a Doppelzimmer Comfort. Breakfast was okay. The lift only went up three floors, and the person at the entrance said it was just “a couple of stairs” to the top. It was actually a full flight. That climb was no problem for us, but it was bizarre that the person at check-in lied about it. He also said it would be very quiet because there weren’t many rooms up there, which was strange since there are just as many rooms. We could hear people talking in the corridor, though not from the other rooms. It was odd that he’d say those things for no reason.

We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend the hotel. The staff were welcoming and kindly looked after our bags until check-in. Our room was spacious, clean and very nice, and the air conditioning kept it cool during the heat. Breakfast was simple but nice, and the hotel is in a great central spot in the city.

The location was great, parking was in a garage just across the street, and the building looked beautiful from outside. Breakfast was good, with limited variety, but it’s free for all guests, so that’s okay. I only stayed overnight. Check-in was quick and the staff member was friendly. My single room worked fine, but it needs refurbishing. The bed sloped and wasn’t level, and the pillows were quite small. Carpet is dated, and I never feel very comfortable with it. At night, dripping noises from the radiators or pipes made it hard to fall asleep and woke me once. Light from the bathroom shone through onto the bed, so curtains in front of the bathroom door or blinds in the bathroom would help. The shower pressure was great, but there was mold in the shower, which wasn’t pleasant. The hairdryer could use an update too.

The location was great and the service okay, but I was very unhappy with the hotel. I tripped on the uneven floor in my room and fell against an old, rusty umbrella holder. A broken sharp piece jabbed into my arm and left a bloody cut about 2 1/2 inches long. I passed out, and when I came round about half an hour later, I was surprised to see an infection. I ended up needing a tetanus shot, and we didn’t even get a slight discount for all that. Don’t stay here if you don’t want a tetanus shot.

The place is extremely dated now, but I stayed here for two weeks back in 1984 and I’ll never forget how great it was. Breakfast was AWESOME, especially the coffee. There was a restaurant connected to the building too, where we’d sometimes eat and drink at night. I hope they’ve kept up that desire to leave guests with a great impression over the years. I’d assume they have. Great times, many moons ago! 😊👍
