Haus Weida

The location is great and the price felt fair. We didn't mind walking over for breakfast, but the table we were given was so cramped it was hard to sit comfortably. A family with two children had to split up across tables, while a table reserved for guests who would surely only pay with money stayed empty during our breakfast. We could have used it. Unreasonable. The shower is very high to step into, so it isn't suitable for older people. The TV was so tiny we couldn't even make out the channel from bed. The fridge was meant to be cool, and perhaps there could have been a bottle of water ready for our arrival.

The noise is what made this stay a one-star experience. On the night before we left, a carnival club had booked almost all of Haus Weida and held a loud party throughout the building, including the classroom, until well after 3:00 AM. We were driven out of the classroom, too, the evening before our exam, so we couldn't practice or study. Thanks a lot. Some partying is understandable, but the hotel allowing that kind of noise with other guests staying there was an absolute disgrace. We had booked a room for the theory part of our SKS (German Sport Boat License) course. At first it seemed convenient, since the building has two classrooms and we could go straight to class in the morning. Instead, our basement rooms were full of mosquitoes and spiders. The furnishings were very outdated and unpleasant, and the whole building was extremely noisy.

The area is peaceful, and the hotel has a lovely sea view. Our room was spacious and had a fridge, though no air conditioning. I didn't check whether the Wi-Fi worked since I didn't need it. We could leave our bikes inside. I'd recommend it.

We were welcomed very warmly, and our room was spotless. The rooms are kept very simple and plain. All in all, a nice place to stay for a few days.
