Stuub Hinterzarten

Being close to the Ravennaschlucht Weihnachtsmarkt worked well for our visit. We liked the comfortable bed, the breakfast and its atmosphere, and how quickly self check-in went. The room could have been cleaner. We didn't try the gym or sauna, though they looked quite new. We enjoyed our stay and would come back.

Titisee, the town, and a gas station are all nearby, though the road close to the hotel makes it a little noisy. That didn't bother me. Check-in was straightforward, and breakfast was delicious, healthy, and had plenty of choice. Our room was on the small side but big enough. The sauna was nothing special, though having one was good enough for me. Staff greeted us with big smiles every morning and were very friendly. The parking space felt a bit tight, but we could park on the street right beside it. We couldn't connect to Netlfix with our own account, but we didn't need it. For what we paid, we had a perfect Urlaub and would love to return.

The old house has plenty of charm, with fresh renovations in the rooms and facilities. We had comfy beds, clean bathrooms, a spacious balcony, and spectacular views. Check-in took about 30 seconds and worked perfectly. This place is a keeper.

We had chosen the hotel to rest after a lovely day in the Black Forest, but the stay was extremely frustrating. There was no staff on site, and the self check-in key card machine wasn't working properly. After three calls went unanswered and two hours without access to our room, someone finally helped us magnetize the card. It still didn't let us into the other hotel areas, so we couldn't use the spa, gym, laundry, dining area, kitchen, terrace, or the other facilities we had paid for. Then at 6:30 a.m. the next morning, the fire alarm sounded throughout the building. Several guests called the people responsible, but no one answered or came to help, so we had no way of knowing whether there was a fire or danger to life. It rang for 45 minutes before switching off on its own. The location was good, but both the service and the staff response were entirely negative.
