City Maritim Rooms

We were left as a group of ten without a place to stay after they cancelled my booking just seven days before we were due to arrive. On the phone, I was told there was water damage; Booking.com said it was overbooked. Whatever the explanation, I'd be cautious about this accommodation.

The flat has plenty of space, feels airy, and is well equipped. But the living room and kitchen-dining area have no windows, so they feel stuffy. The second bedroom gets so bright that sleeping there is nearly impossible, since its window has no blackout blind. The crib was broken, as was an entire power strip, which meant the TV equipment shown in the listing couldn't be used. Getting hold of the landlord while there was very difficult. WhatsApp messages were ignored or answered very late, and raising the brightness issue led to a seemingly endless email exchange with very irritating replies. More disappointing than enjoyable overall.

We had a short family break in Bremerhaven. Having several rooms was a plus, and the city center was about a 20-minute walk away. It's a clean, reasonably priced place to stay, though the bathroom facilities could do with an update and there's no air conditioning.

The location is excellent, and the place was reasonably clean. The furnishings are okay, but some things need attention: the lamps have clicking timers, some remotes were missing, and some TV channels didn't work. The blinds were broken, and the freezer was due for a defrost. The apartment is otherwise well furnished.
