The games were the highlight for us, and the gentleman running them was top notch. We were there for a family reunion and had an amazing time competing against each other. Then we had a wonderful dinner afterward. Highly, highly recommend!

We had lovely forest views and could enjoy the well-preserved castle without crowds touring it. The rooms and food were okay for a short stay, though being right in the forest means you may see some large spiders. The staff were very helpful, even though only a few of them spoke much English.

The castle itself is really cool, but the service let the visit down. The staff seemed a bit uninformed about the event and what had been promoted online. 👎

Exploring the castle freely was a real treat, especially the amazing view from the top of the tower. The surrounding countryside is beautiful in every direction, with lots to see nearby, and I wish we’d had time to hike. It’s a little drive to get there, but absolutely worth it. This was one of my favorite places I’ve stayed anywhere, and I’d love to return if I can. Our room had the charm of a 12th century castle with the comfort of a modern hotel. It was simple, lovely, clean, and comfortable, and the bed was surprisingly good. The wine in the room was great too. It did get very hot inside; opening the window helped some, but only so much. Still, there was so much to do outside the room that it barely mattered. The staff were wonderful and kind, and breakfast was great and had everything we needed. We had dinner reservations elsewhere, so didn’t eat at the hotel, though I’d bet dinner would be good too. The price felt completely worthwhile, and it was probably the second cheapest place we stayed.
