Hotel Brühler Hof

The bed was comfortable and the room had some charm, but sleep was almost impossible because it was so noisy. The room was very outdated, and the shower was broken. The location is central, though there’s no parking available.

The bed was really comfortable, which is the only reason I’m giving one star. The rooms are badly outdated, and they already looked old 20 years ago. There were chipped tiles, and the bathroom had no hot water. Neither the shower nor the sink got warm. We were moved to another room, just vacated by a guest, so we could use its bathroom, but it hadn’t been cleaned. The shower pressure was so strong it felt like being spat on. Noise from the restaurant downstairs went on until the middle of the night, with chairs being dragged around, and started again first thing in the morning. A moving company would be quieter. The view is what you can see in the picture. There’s no hotel parking. Since it’s in the pedestrian zone, you can’t pull up to unload your suitcases. You have to carry them from a parking spot far away, if you can find one. Even for free, this would have been too expensive.

Highly unprofessional. We’ve been trying to get an invoice for two months and still haven’t had a response. Booking.com is the only way to contact them, since there’s no direct email or phone number. Travelers who need an invoice, be warned.

The hotel’s close to the city center, which is the one thing I can recommend. You can’t drive up to unload, and the rooms are quite dated. One had no blinds. In the other, the bathroom fan was so loud we had to raise our voices to be heard in the next room. The shower door had come off its hinges, so water leaked out while showering.
