Bullay turned out to be much nicer than we expected, and it worked really well as a base for exploring the region. We were happy with our stay at Ferienhaus Bullay, especially appartment Prinzenkopf, which has the lovely views we hoped for from its many windows and balcony. A few practical points are worth mentioning. We had our nine month old with us, but the baby cot had planks and some foam instead of a mattress, so there was no way she could sleep in it. She slept in our bed, though the two single mattresses made that uncomfortable too. The kitchen had a few regular pans but only two very small frying pans, which made frying things difficult. Guests staying more than a week are meant to get cleaning and fresh towels; we stayed a little over a week and didn't receive either. We could accept these issues, but were disappointed not to get a reply to our email about them. We'd still recommend the stay, particularly appartment Prinzenkopf. We just wanted to mention these things.

It wasn't clean when we arrived, with several dead insects and clogged drains. The house also gets hot in the upstairs bedrooms: there are no shutters and the insulation is poor, with no air conditioning. Noise was another problem, since busy roads run along both sides and an active railway line on one side runs day and night.

The view over the Moselle is fantastic, and we feel completely at ease here. Everything has been perfect for us. We'll definitely return!

We had the apartment with a terrace, which came with a beach chair as well as a table and chairs. The beds were comfortable, though a little narrow, and the furnishings and equipment were good. This is a great base for exploring the Moselle Cycle Route, with the river just across a footpath. The station is about 750 m away by bike, and connections both up and down the Moselle are good.

The 'Rivaner' unit's corner terrace felt like a little oasis, and the place is on the quieter side of town with hardly any traffic. The river view is partly blocked by trees, but neighbors can't look in. Inside, the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom practical, and the furnishings attractive. A fantastic holiday apartment, equipped with everything we needed.
