I’ve been coming back regularly for years, and it’s one of the nicest hotels on the Mosel. Petra and Thomas, the owners, go out of their way to make each stay enjoyable. The restaurant and location are both very nice. The train station is an easy walk, though Petra or Thomas will drive you either way.
Traveling by train on a long European trip from Australia, we found this to be one of our best hotel stays. Petra sent Thomas to pick us up from the Bahnhof while she prepared a lovely dinner for our arrival. We enjoyed three days in Bullay, walking the local paths and taking the boat to Cochem one day.

The passenger and freight railway runs behind the hotel, but I didn’t find it especially noisy. There’s also a wine tavern attached to the hotel, about a five-minute walk away. The atmosphere was pleasant, the hosts were friendly, and breakfast was excellent.
The Moselle view was lovely, and the place was fairly busy. But the food let me down and felt like poor value. I’ve had much better meals elsewhere, so I wouldn’t come back.
