Pension Kräutermühlenhof

We were there Wednesday through Saturday with our two children and had a nice short break. The location made things easy, with restaurants, shops, and other places close at hand. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean and fine for a short stay. Breakfast could have had a bigger selection, though. The restaurant on site was decent, but its prices seemed a little high beside nearby places that sometimes offered more. It's a good guesthouse for a short visit, and we felt comfortable. Thanks for the hospitality.

Silvana made a real impression with her open, friendly manner and helpful recommendations. She'd always stop for a quick chat without ever being intrusive. Matthias welcomed us at Kräutermühlenhof Burg with such a warm smile that we felt at home straight away. They both seemed to have that same friendly smile all the time, and we were glad to tell them how much we appreciated it. A wonderful visit, and we'll be back.

For our wedding anniversary break, we found everything very clean and well kept, inside and out, and everyone was friendly. The food was good, apart from one disappointing evening when the older gentleman on the service staff reacted. I have a few breakfast suggestions: a hot water dispenser could save time and effort, and it would be good to cut down on waste from chocolate spread, coffee creamer, and sugar, something we've already done ourselves. The cold cuts had turned gray by day three, so they didn't seem fresh. I also missed fresh vegetables, and some fruit looked unappetizing. Presentation matters. A bread knife with a wooden board would be better than a plate, and nicer cups and hotter coffee would help too. Just suggestions. We'll definitely return.

For a few days in the Spreewald, this little hotel was nice enough, with decent rooms and a modern bathroom. Just don't expect too much. The restaurant is usually busy, but in my opinion the food doesn't justify the prices.
