The meal was every bit as special as the occasion. We started with a wonderfully aromatic asparagus cream soup, beautifully balanced with asparagus tips and little extras. The main course was excellent too: fresh asparagus with hollandaise or melted butter, potatoes and croquettes, plus breaded chicken fillet, tender beef fillet, and pork medallions, all cooked just right. The dark meat sauce was especially delicious. Dessert brought mousse au chocolat, a delicate vanilla dessert, and strawberry ice cream, arranged with fresh fruit, sauces, and thoughtful little details. We celebrated our first wedding anniversary at Landhotel Zur Eiche in Buxtehude, and they surprised us by serving the same menu we had a year earlier on our wedding day. Sharing that experience again with our witnesses and closest family was emotional and beautiful. From the warm welcome onward, we felt at home and treated as more than just guests. The service stayed attentive and kind throughout lunch and the afternoon.
