The evenings in the garden were a highlight. We had beer out back in the incredible quiet, with stars bright overhead away from the city lights. At checkout it felt like leaving a friend’s home. The hosts were so warm and friendly, and throughout our four-night stay they were incredibly accommodating. We were there while my husband searched for his ancestry in and around Castell. Much of the food comes from their own backyard, including the host’s very tasty, unusual homemade jellies and butters. Breakfast was lovely, and they’ll accommodate any need. We also happened to be there on a night with their four-course meal. Don’t miss it. The menu changes each time, and the meal is made with love using local ingredients.

Third time there, and somehow it was even better than a blast, absolutely heavenly! We made sure to visit while Jörn was cooking this time. Every dish left me in awe, and my taste buds were having a party. I could try to describe each bite, but I just don’t have the words. Make sure you book a Friday night and experience it for yourself. Jörn & Katharina are amazing and welcome you with open arms. Love always, Aylin

The hospitality is heartfelt, and the food is fresh, local, hearty, and really good. Book Friday or Saturday for the shared menus. Don’t miss them!

It feels private and cosy, like having a relative’s spare room to yourself. The breakfast is great too, and the homemade jam is the best.

Nice spot, with reasonable prices. The food and wine are good.
