Hotel Sächsischer Hof

The room had good, adequate facilities, and everything was very clean. I stayed two nights, but both were cold. When I arrived, the heater was off, the window was open, and the room was very chilly. As usual in Germany, the heating was switched off at night, so the first night was especially cold, and the room still wasn’t properly warm the second night. It would be better to turn on the heater and shut the windows before guests arrive. There wasn’t a free socket by the bed: the one there was taken by the lamp and alarm clock. The socket by the table was behind it, so I had to move the table to reach it.

The train station and downtown are about a 7-8 minute walk away, and there’s a supermarket across the street. Staff were nice, and the rooms were small but cozy. The neighborhood was so-so.

For the price, it’s an alright hotel. The receptionists were nice. Sounds from people on the stairs and in other rooms came through the very thin walls and woke me in the morning. The curtains also let the daylight in once the sun was up. Still okay as a budget hotel.

The food is wonderful, and the staff are really friendly. It’s near the town centre too. Breakfast costs extra, which is a big drawback, and the room feels a bit pricey for what you get.
