We'd eaten at the restaurant before, so booked a couple of nights for October 2025, only to find it closed on those dates. The family owners left the room door key details and parking information for us. Our room was clean, quiet, and comfortable, and the compact bathroom had everything we needed. Breakfast was plentiful and typically German. From here, everything Cochem offers is just a few minutes' walk, even in the rain. We'd recommend it.

We drove to Cochem after seeing the good reviews and Friday hours listed as noon to 10 pm. But we were told, rather unfriendly, that the kitchen closes from 2 to 5. Please update the schedule to make the lunch break clear, like the French do after lunch service. Edit, Sept 21: In reply to the owner, nobody offered us anything. We were only told the kitchen was closed. The website focuses on the hotel and doesn't give the restaurant hours. We found a much nicer place with friendlier people, though.

Both kinds of schnitzel we tried were delicious. We also liked the big wine list, with lots of local bottles to choose from. A great local German dinner.

Really lovely staff working hard, great beer and wine, and proper German cooking. We left full and happy, and the price was affordable. It has a nice family feel without tacky forced decor. Highly recommend, but book ahead.

The food and service during dinner were great, but the end of the meal was disappointing. We started at 8:30 because they said they were fully booked earlier. We hadn't taken long, yet when we asked for dessert, they said the kitchen was closed and the staff had left. Nobody had asked if we wanted dessert sooner or warned us the kitchen was about to close. I don't understand serving food and then deciding halfway through service that the night is over.
