Beim Weinbauer

We had wine tasting at the wine bar downstairs during our hotel stay. The waitress was very nice, and we enjoyed the wine enough to pick our favorite and take a few bottles home. Our room was very clean and well kept, though a bit outdated.

The hotel stay has been fine so far, but the waiter at the wine bar downstairs was very unfriendly. At closing time we were sent away abruptly and in an extremely harsh, antisocial way. I wouldn’t recommend going there because of that.

Our room looked out over the river, and the small hotel was nice. The winery downstairs has lovely wines and good service.

We left angry and disgusted by how we were treated at Beim Weinbaur. My family and friends were struggling with the German menu, so we asked for one in English. The bald waiter rudely said they only had German because this was Germany. We then mistakenly asked whether they had beer, and he arrogantly replied that it was a wine bar. As we left, he was rude again and pushed my friend’s wife out, telling us to go. I’ve never seen such an arrogant, uneducated waiter. I hope he gets fired or trained, and that Beim Weinbaur apologizes, since this could escalate further on another occasion. Funny enough, he did speak Dutch after all.
