We went in the off season and never saw anyone at reception. Everything was handled by email and lockers, and the only time we saw someone was when they had forgotten to give us a parking ticket. The paid parking lot was open and a kilometre from the hotel. We were in the guesthouse even farther away, and our room had no toilet. We had to take a key and go out into the hallway to use the bathroom, though it was very clean. The room itself was tidy and great, with an amazing view, but no one came to clean it, so we had to reuse our towels. The shower also wasn’t made for people over 1.90 metres tall. We couldn’t find anyone at the desk to ask about Sunday breakfast, so we left it. Communication made us feel like a burden. Maybe it’s better in vacation season, but this felt like a hostel, not a hotel.

We were moved from a river-view room to one with no view, and one staff member was very impolite. Nobody asked us what we couldn’t eat for the surprise dinner, which left us disappointed. The location is really good, but I wouldn’t recommend staying here. There are many other choices.

It’s in a beautiful location, and breakfast was delicious. The staff were decent, and our room was clean and tidy, though too small. Nobody is available at reception after 8 pm.

The location worked perfectly for us, right by the Mosel and where the tour ships dock. We could walk everywhere and didn’t need to move the car once. The old building’s uneven, creaky floors have a certain charm as you walk through. Breakfast was great, and the staff were super nice and accommodating of my wife and me as vegans. The shower had strong pressure. The bed was comfortable for me and a bit soft for my wife, though that’ll differ from person to person. We had a very pleasant stay.

The staff were friendly, and breakfast was a standard buffet with no complaints. The hotel is right on the promenade, so traffic can be noisy if you leave the window open. The windows are very thick, though, and block most of it when shut.
