Be warned: this is a huge campsite with old toilets and bathrooms, and we had a terrible time there. On Friday and Saturday nights, partying laborers caused a lot of disturbance. We called the emergency number posted at reception, but the man who answered yelled at us for disturbing his sleep. When we explained that there was a loud party with very drunk people, he said it wasn’t his problem. The police told us it was a known issue and they didn’t have enough staff to do anything. This happened on August 23rd, summer 2024. Two months after I posted this, Google told me it had removed my review because the Campsite claimed it was fake. I sent Google proof that I’d stayed there, along with proof of the phone numbers I called that horrible night, and Google put the review back up. After that I checked the other reviews and saw that they had actively been removing many recent ones with similar complaints about weekend partying. I can imagine that not everyone who reviews a campsite will send proof that they really stayed there. That makes it easy for this campsite to keep its 4.4 average while negative reviews are challenged and removed. Avoid this place.

The campsite was quiet and easy to get to, and the bungalow was clean when we arrived. It had everything we needed, with enough space and beds for everyone in our family. Staff were friendly and helpful, and we used both the laundry and the on-site activities, including the Ping Pong table, Volleyball Court, and Playground. There are shops nearby, and the site is close to historical places like the Marienborn memorial and the border crossing memorial between East and West Germany. We had a pleasant stay and felt the price was fair. The sanitary facilities and playground are quite dated and could use an upgrade.

It’s a really large area, nice for a walk and a little peace and quiet.

Feels like a typical 1980s DDR camp.
