We rented an apartment with a small kitchen, a little refrigerator, and a few utensils for quick meals. The hotel area was quiet, peaceful, and safe, and there was a small pub that was nice for happy hour. The rooms were impeccably clean, and breakfast was excellent, with lots of fruit, bread, and yogurt to choose from. The hotel is near the banks of the Rhine River, and a short walk from the chocolate museum, the historic center of Cologne, and one of the city’s main Christmas markets.

I felt right at home thanks to the warm welcome and attentive staff at Hotel Allegro. The room was comfortable, with a coffee machine and kettle, minibar, cozy bed, and Italian shower. Heumarkt station is just a 2 minutes walk away, which made it easy to get around. I enjoyed my stay, though I couldn’t fit breakfast into my schedule.

The location is top notch, right beside the river and close to tons of restaurants. The staff were really friendly, and the rooms were clean and very well equipped.

The room was very clean and nicely equipped, with a comfortable bed that had just the right firmness and a good bathroom. I only had a quick visit to Cologne, and being so central made it easy to get around on foot. It's a modest hotel, and I'd stay there again.

The hotel has a sweet, almost grandparents' house kind of feel, and the team at Allegro were incredibly helpful to my colleagues and me during our business trip to Cologne. The rooms are quiet, and Heumarkt is an easy short walk away. They use traditional metal keys instead of cards, which you leave at reception whenever you go out. A couple of things could be better: water ends up on the floor after using the shower, and only deluxe rooms have a mini fridge, so there's nowhere to keep cold food safely. Even with those issues, I'd happily recommend it for a pleasant stay near the city square.
