Astrid at the front desk was extremely helpful and super kind. The hotel is close to Cologne central station, and the rooms have AC, which was great in summer. I'd recommend it as a second home while staying in Cologne.

It's close to the cathedral, and my room had a balcony with chairs and a small table where I could enjoy the buildings around the hotel. There was also a desk, a couch, and a small kitchen. The bathroom was OK, and the room was a decent size, not small. It's not a fancy hotel, but it would do the job on a budget. You can tell the room and bathroom haven't been renovated in quite some time.

The staff were very nice and welcoming, and the location is good, close to Cologne Central Station. The hotel itself is old, and the facilities don't match what you might expect for the amount you pay. I found it very expensive because the service was far below expectations. For example, breakfast could be included for the same price elsewhere. The bed wasn't very comfortable, though the space was big and good, and there was a balcony. My standards for a hotel come from my experience in different places, and I'm rating it on that basis, not just on personal ideas.

The staff are nice and helpful, and there are lots of restaurants around. It's a great apartment in my view, even if it's not the best. You can walk to the train station without needing a taxi, and Cologne Cathedral is just a stone's throw away.
