We loved staying here and wouldn’t want to go elsewhere. It’s a cozy little room with a TV, in a lovely area that gives you a different side of the city. Getting into Koln is easy, though German transport can be confusing. Get the KVB app, and I think the 1B ticket is the one you need. If you’re checking in late, look in your junk mail, since they’ve probably sent your key code there.

It’s good value for Cologne, with a tram or U-Bahn right nearby that gets you into town in about 15-20 minutes. There are also good restaurants and a lovely park close by if you’d rather stay in the neighborhood. The reception staff were very friendly, and you can get complimentary tea and coffee, or ask them for hot water if you want to make instant noodles. There’s no water boiler in the room. The rooms are a decent size, with a swivel TV, and the small bathroom does the job. It’s not luxurious, but the price is fair. In summer, brighter evenings made it harder to sleep, so darker blackout curtains would help. I enjoyed my stay and have no real complaints.

I had a nice one-night stay in a single room at Hotel Ariana in Köln. It was small but had everything I needed, and the price was good for a busy weekend in Köln. The woman at reception was especially kind and made me feel comfortable throughout my stay.

A cute place for seeing the area on a budget, with a good location near the tram and U-district. The staff were lovely and made an effort to make me comfortable. Reception has coffee and tea, but I would have liked a mini fridge for keeping drinks in case of emergencies. I’d give the accommodation 3.5 stars, while the staff and location bring it up to a 4 for me.
