The rooms were very clean and felt like proper hotel rooms, which was good for such a cheap booking. Most of the staff were very friendly, though one woman seemed a bit hectic. Their English wasn’t perfect, so communication was sometimes difficult. I wouldn’t recommend the food, but it’s manageable if you don’t mind little variety.

I haven’t stayed at the hotel, but I’ve eaten at its restaurant quite a few times. It’s one of the most authentic Chinese restaurants I’ve found in Cologne so far, and the food is reasonably priced. The cold dishes I like include garlic pork, pickled Chinese cabbage, and marinated assorted meat (lǔ shuǐ pīn pán). For warm dishes, I’ve enjoyed fried pork, fried green beans, fish soup, eggplant with salted fish, steamed fish, fried green vegetables, fried beef, and steamed dumplings filled with minced meat and gravy. The hotel and restaurant are near a business area where some people stay on business trips. It’s not close to the city center, but the tram stop is just a few steps away.

The rooms are nice, and the price for a room in Cologne is good.
