It's fairly central, and some of the staff were somewhat friendly, especially the receptionists, the older woman who seems to own the place, and the bar waiters. But this felt much more like a Gasthaus than a hotel. The rooms were very old and sparsely furnished, our TV didn't work, and the shared bathrooms weren't especially clean. We ended up paying about 100€/night during convention week because the proper hotels in the center were full. The tiny room was uncomfortable, the beds squeaked, and the mattresses seemed decades past their best. The sheets were stained and had patched holes. As a last resort, it might be worth considering if you're desperate and can get a rate under 50€. Bring your own towels and disinfectant for the shared bathrooms, and you should manage for a night or two.

The first dinner was amazing. We shared gulash soup to start, then had schnitzel and Zarte Rinderroulade. The portions were huge, and we left really full. The waitress was lovely, though the main dishes took a while to arrive. I said I'd come back, and I did, but the second visit was a letdown. The gulasch soup was good, but the mussels were tasteless and didn't seem fresh as described. They were the worst I've ever had. We waited 20 minutes for the waitress to come by about dessert, then had to call her over, only to hear that the kitchen had closed 20 minutes earlier. She could have checked whether we wanted dessert before that happened. We were also charged for a little ketchup without being told in advance, which I've never seen at another restaurant, hahaha. Bad experience this time. If you really like fresh fish, don't order the mussels!

We didn't have a reservation, but they kindly found a table for the two of us. The food was so delicious and looked just as good. Everyone was very welcoming. We'll definitely return, and I'd highly recommend it!
