Landhaus Pohlhof

We chose to eat out, so I can’t comment on the breakfast. The hotel itself was tidy, clean, functional, and well run, with a peaceful atmosphere away from the busy city. Our accommodation mostly met expectations, though the location felt somewhat secluded and farther from Cologne’s lively center. The value for money is debatable, since it felt expensive, but still acceptable for Cologne on a weekend. The final nightly cost was higher than we expected. We were especially unhappy about the €17.50 parking fee per night and the additional 5% tourist tax, which was also charged on the parking. Booking.com had given different information about free private parking. A hotel employee explained his point of view, and we’ll take the issue up elsewhere.

The outdoor area looks lovely. I can imagine it being busy in summer.

The owner gave fantastic service, six stars if I could. The rooms were beautiful and clean, and the hotel was cozy, just outside Cologne, and well suited to a short stay. Thanks for a wonderful time. We’ll definitely be back!

I slept badly because it was so noisy, and the techno music from a wedding reception in the connected guesthouse kept me awake until 4 a.m. during my seminar weekend. That was a rough start to an exam day. The owner was very friendly and can’t help the noise, but quiet is crucial for an overnight stay, and I wish we’d been told about the event beforehand. The rest went smoothly: booking and coordination were quick and straightforward, my spacious room was well maintained, and the direct Wi-Fi worked perfectly. The rural location was a plus for me, just 250 meters from the seminar venue in the Chamber of Agriculture. Breakfast had everything I needed, the coffee was excellent, and the atmosphere was very friendly.
