The river views are gorgeous, and we got the room we’d reserved. The room and views were lovely. Customer service was the best part. Mr. Hasan helped my husband and me check in and was courteous and so helpful whenever we needed anything. I highly recommend booking your next stay here.

Our receptionist Hasan was incredibly helpful. On checkout day we could leave our luggage at the hotel while we explored the city. The rooms were clean and warm, with wonderful views of the Rhein. The location is perfect for exploring Koln, about a five-minute walk from the train station and Cathedral. Five stars all round!

Papa Joe's Jazz Lokal Bar is just around the back of the hotel, about a two-minute walk around the building, and most nights the music starts at 8:30. There’s also plenty of good beer and food within five minutes, so we enjoyed trying different Kölsch to-go and picking a favorite. The hotel itself is right by the riverfront in the pedestrian area, and we loved it. Our room was clean, which was a relief after some grim bathrooms and unvacuumed carpets at places in England. The staff were friendly, too. The walk to Köln hbf is about 10 minutes. I’d skip Google Maps’ fastest route and take the exit toward Kölner Dom and Altmarkt instead. It adds 2-3 minutes but avoids five minutes through ugly parking lots, and the architecture on the way is much nicer. The Dom and Ludwig Museum are about seven minutes away. At noon, you can catch one of 12 zodiac melodies at Altmarkt. We were really happy with our stay.

After two bad experiences with dirty places to stay in England, finding our room spotless at the Rhein Hotel was a relief. The staff were friendly, and the location worked really well for us, with river-view options and pubs and the Dom Cathedral within walking distance. I’d be comfortable suggesting this hotel to friends or family visiting.
