The best thing is the location in a hip part of Cologne. The room was so cramped I had to climb over the chair to reach the window, and with my suitcase open I couldn't open the bathroom door. There were stains on the chair and cover, mold in the showerhead, and dirt on the shower floor and fittings. The breakfast room chairs were stained too. My boss forgot to book breakfast, and the morning staff member berated me about it in front of everyone, saying I should scold my boss for booking incorrectly. When my boss called to rearrange a booking, she scolded him over the phone as well. Awful experience. I don't recommend this place.

A small, no-frills hotel right in the city center, and the staff were extremely nice. It was very clean, the beds were good, and at $70 a night I could live without extras like a soap dish, toothbrush cup, or kettle. The shower seemed awkwardly installed and smelled, though. Still, good value for the money.

I'm giving two stars for the location alone. At €125 a night, the rooms were extremely dirty and dusty, with a broken mirror. They hadn't changed the sheets or towels today, and there was dirt and visible fingerprints everywhere. 😭

The single room wasn't anything special, but it had what I needed, and having access to a balcony was great. Staff were excellent, always friendly and happy to help or leave you to yourself, whichever you prefer. The location was especially handy for the Christmas markets, with everything walkable. Bikes and scooters are easy to find if you want one, and there are convenience stores on the same road plus some good places to eat within 50-100m.
