Leonardo Hotel Koeln

The bar and restaurant were great, and the service there was really good. Mo put in a lot of effort and made us feel welcome, thank you for the wonderful hospitality. We stayed at Leonardo and got the familiar standard we expect. Breakfast was adequate, but it was very noisy, and the service made us feel rushed out as breakfast was ending.

The bathroom door was patched with tape, and under the chairs we found a fruit pit and confetti. The room wasn't clean enough. Breakfast wasn't worth the price either. If you're here for work, don't expect a proper desk. The small table made using a laptop difficult.

The pool and SPA were already closed when we arrived, even though the website says the hotel has a SPA and staff had confirmed it was available when we called before booking in. When we asked at reception, they even said they didn't recognize the phone number we found on Google Maps. Total chaos and no accountability. The rest of the hotel felt old and dated, nowhere near what I'd expect from a place advertised as four-star. Our room was uncomfortable: the mattress had completely sagged, the pillows felt cheap, and the bedding was unpleasant. The bathroom layout was absurd, with a glass shelf right above the toilet that made it easy to hit your head. The hair dryer barely blew air, and the sink tap took almost 30 seconds to fill a small cup. There were no-smoking signs on every door, but the hallways smelled strongly of marijuana, and even the bath towels smelled of smoke. The capsule coffee machine in the room was broken, and although the lobby bar looked like it offered coffee and drinks, all the coffee pots were empty. An extremely poor stay. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. It felt like a low-budget horror movie.

We stayed for around six days, and the rooms, food and service were all great. Best experience overall.
