I was glad the hotel had a free shuttle bus in the morning. I'd made the mistake of walking from the airport station, where the route was hard to navigate and there were no pedestrian pavements. Reception also had a bowl of apples. One was enough for breakfast since my flight left before the restaurant opened.

For a short stay near cologne airport, this hotel is hard to beat. The rooms are a good size, prices are reasonable, and breakfast is good. Being able to park at the hotel also makes getting around easy.

The staff were really friendly, dinner at the hotel restaurant was delicious, and the location is good, very near the airport with a shuttle bus. But the room was unbelievably hot and there was no way to adjust the temperature. We slept with the windows open in October and still couldn't cool it down. The pillows were uncomfortable.

The room was okay, though I arrived around 10 PM and the restaurant was nearly closing. I wasn't told at check-in that it would be closed for lunch on Sunday, so I ended up going hungry until lunchtime, when Dominos opened and I could order delivery. Make sure to get breakfast. The night receptionist was pretty useless when I asked whether the vending machine water was still or sparkling. He just sent me to the bar. The bar guy was really nice. He first offered to sell me water from a glass bottle, which I didn't want because it was more expensive, then kindly showed me which vending machine water was which.

The only downside was the noise with the window open, but that's because the airfield is nearby. Otherwise I liked everything: the room was clean and spacious, breakfast was delicious and the location was good.
