8/10
Motorworld being right outside the room is a big part of the appeal. You can spend hours looking at the cars without leaving the complex, and there are several restaurants and bars on site, with different food and atmospheres to choose from. The V8 Hotel Köln @ Motorworld makes a memorable stay for anyone into cars, with automotive touches throughout the décor and individually styled rooms. The rooms are bright and airy, with high ceilings and large windows, plenty of room to relax, and very comfortable beds. The modern, clean design keeps the car theme tasteful while still feeling comfortable. It’s a nice mix of novelty and a genuinely restful stay.

Paying an extra €20 to check in two hours early seemed unnecessary, especially since the room was already ready. The room itself had a strong sewage smell from the moment we entered, and it stayed that way during our visit. For the price and what we expected, it was a disappointing stay.

The food on site was unreal, especially the steak at the relaxed diner, and the staff were super friendly. The motoring displays are a real perk, with car details all around, plus a bed shaped like a car that would delight anyone young at heart who loves cars. It’s only a short tram ride into Cologne. A must-stay if you’re into motoring, and I’d happily recommend it.

Direct access to the museum is a great feature. The food was excellent, and the staff were great too. If you’re in the area, this is definitely the place to stay.
