Hotel Zum Rosengarten

For a single night, this is a good place to stay. The rooms are small but very clean, and there's parking beside the hotel. Breakfast was actually good. The entrance is on the side, so the place can look deserted when you arrive, and I assume the front isn't used. For dinner, I'd suggest downton, about a 2km walk away. The city brewery there is especially nice.

The complimentary breakfast was a nice surprise, with far more choice and better food than I expected. That earned the hotel a star from me. The staff were nice enough and the room was clean enough, but there were problems: the beds were small, with two beds feeling like a queen cut in half. No AC made the room brutal even in the evening, and they only give you one key. The area around the hotel isn't appealing, feels run down, and there's not much to do. For me, it really wasn't worth it.

It's handy for business trips, with some major companies within walking distance. But the rooms are tiny and very basic, the beds are small and uncomfortable, and with no shower curtain the whole bathroom got soaked. There's no aircon or fan either, so it gets very hot in summer. The attached restaurant is basic but cheap. Service is friendly, if nothing special, and breakfast is okay. I'd only come back for a short stay or if everywhere else was full. I'd give it 2.5 stars.

There are good transport options, and it's a decent hotel, though the rooms feel a bit old. I recommend it, but it could be about 25% cheaper. Prices seem to double when there's an event in the Frankfurt am Main area. That happened to me during a huge fair in the city, and I paid double between 10-15 March 2019.
