The room was really pleasant, and the Schnitzel with Bratkartoffeln was great. The service was just as good. I’d happily recommend this restaurant.

Great service, and the food is classic. Works well for a regular meal or a banquet with a big group.

The starters and desserts were lovely, and the main was tasty too. I had a best of beef plate with potato gratin. The meat was wonderful, though the gratin seemed to have sat under the heat lamp too long. Service was the weak spot. The staff were nice, but everything took ages. Our three-course dinner lasted nearly two hours, the first drinks took 40 minutes, and my second drink never came. I cancelled it when we had to leave, and the waiter argued with me. It was Christmas dinner and the place was full, so we know this may not reflect a normal night. We think service is probably better then and would try again because the food was good.

A few weeks ago, we were eating outside during heavy rain when staff opened the tent without warning. Water soaked us and the food that had just arrived. We yelled for them to stop, but the waiting staff ignored us. For an hour they acted as if we weren't there, even when we wanted to sit inside, order more drinks or dessert, or pay. In the end, we had to stand up with cash in hand and go over to them to settle the bill. It seemed to surprise them that we didn't want to get drenched, or have two liters of water poured over our food. A quick warning and a chance to move our things or go inside would have avoided all of this. I also contacted the hotel afterward asking for an explanation, but management ignored me. Short version: heavy rain, an open tent, soaked guests and food, and staff who ignored us. I'd suggest the hotel use that same approach with its patrons, just the ignoring part.
