Ferienwohnung Brinkmann 4**** mit Moselblick

The view was lovely, but that was the only part I enjoyed. I’ve stayed in holiday rentals around the world and never felt this uncomfortable. The mattresses have deep hollows, apparently after going unreplaced for at least five years, and silverfish came out at night, even in the bed. There was a smell like unwashed people, with a huge artificial flower arrangement in the hall as my main suspect. The street was extremely loud whether the bedroom window was open or shut. The downstairs neighbor sounded like a junkyard when he was home, flew a camera drone outside my bedroom window, and his girlfriend could be very vocal at times. The internet was awful, even though I’d asked about it before moving in and the noise and connection had been played down or left out. On arrival, the landlady photographed the contents of the closets and told me to put everything back exactly as it had been. She kept me busy with explanations and rules while I was exhausted from travelling, including how to use a washing machine and save energy, things I already knew. The kitchen was filthy, and the oven hadn’t even had a basic clean. The appliances and Tupperware were sticky and broken. I reported the broken salad spinner and rusty kettle because I worried she might otherwise blame me for them. The replacement spinner was so disgusting I put it through the dishwasher three times, then still couldn’t bring myself to use it. The apartment was advertised as all inclusive, but there were extra charges for final cleaning and for using the washing machine, which is in another tenant’s bathroom. I don’t understand where the supposed four stars come from.
