From the outside the hotel doesn’t stand out, but inside it’s stunning. The public spaces and rooms are tastefully furnished, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Great value for the money.

The rooms are nice and the central location is great. Having a spa in the hotel is a nice touch, though it was very crowded and the staff could do a better job keeping the accessories stocked. I had a good experience overall, worth four stars, but the value for money would need to improve for me to give five.

The service was welcoming and professional, and there’s parking available. Breakfast was very generous. The rooms are beautiful and modern, and the restaurant serves delicious food with an international touch. The spa is outstanding, especially the infinity pool overlooking the city. Set across several refurbished buildings, it really is a hidden gem in town.

The main thing I’d improve is the breakfast choice for vegetarians and vegans. There was a huge range of meat and fish, while plant based options were pretty basic, such as sliced vegetables, muesli, and jams. I understand that Franconian food tends to be meat heavy, but a few more choices would have been nice. The spa, on the other hand, had plenty of space for my visit, even though I know other reviewers found it overcrowded. The hotel was busy, but I didn’t have that experience. Right in the center of Dinkelsbühl’s old town, it has a fascinating spa on the top three floors, with saunas and a relaxation area that’s breathtaking. The pool overlooking the cathedral is the cherry on top. Goldene Rose is a one of a kind experience.
