Hotel Weisses Ross

The outdoor seating was right by our room, but the restaurant closed at 10 pm, so it didn’t cause a problem. There’s no air conditioning. This is a charming, quaint place near the heart of Old Town, with very old buildings kept authentic right down to the door locks. The dinners are good, and breakfast is very good.

I’ve stayed here three times and love the place. Even the smaller room I had while traveling solo was great, and the staff are friendly and very helpful. Breakfast is great too. It’s also close to a parking lot. You have to pay, but it isn’t too expensive, and it beats hunting for street parking. I’m coming back this August and can’t wait.

The room was the best part: right under the roof, with exposed wooden beams and a lovely mezzanine bed for my child. Everything was carefully arranged down to the smallest detail, and the staff had left a complimentary bottle of water and a small apple. A kind older man welcomed my family and handed us the keys to the building next door. After a long trip, I was glad to find someone who could speak English, since I don’t know any German. The hotel has no private parking, but we found plenty of free spaces on the street and could get our luggage inside easily. We had dinner and breakfast there too. Dinner wasn’t anything special, while breakfast was generous and well served. This was my first stop in the city on the romantische strasse, and I thought it was simply lovely.

The staff really care, and the hotel is clean, quiet, quaint, and perfectly placed. We had a superb dinner and loved Dinkelsbuhl. Take a walk around the walls to see the beautiful old town. I’d call this a five-star hotel, or at least a four.
