We could explore the rooms at our own pace on the self-guided tour, with information about each significant area posted in German and English. Everything was so well maintained, and being inside the rooms felt like stepping back into the castle's history. The courtyard restaurant was a lovely stop too, with seating indoors or outside. Inside, a wood-burning stove kept things comfortably warm. I’m so glad we came, and hope to return for an event someday. That would make it feel even more like experiencing the castle in the Middle Ages. The visit went way beyond what I expected!

The people here are so friendly and help you pick the right meal. Make sure you try the rotkohl, or red cabbage. Stunning. We love bringing visitors here to see what a real medieval knights' fort was like, with all its discomfort, instead of the glamorous castles shown on Netflix. It’s also always a great place for a traditional meal.

Such a beautiful old castle, with a wonderful view and a good beer garden. Had a wonderful experience 💗. Recommend a visit.

There's lots of interesting history, and you can go into many of the rooms. The Biergarten has good, inexpensive drinks and a relaxed atmosphere, and there's a gift shop at the front. I didn't stay at the hotel, but it looks like a cool place to stay. Really fun place to check out!
