Hotel am Bahnhof Ditzingen

The self check-in was easy, and the rooms were clean. It's a small hotel near both the station and the shops, with a great price.

There was smoke inside the place, which wasn't good.

For a last-minute one-night stay near Stuttgart/Weissach, I found this a good fit for my budget. It was 20 minutes away and cost about two-thirds of what I usually pay in Heimsheim, around €72 or so. My room was clean and had a shower and internet, which was all I needed. There’s no breakfast, but there’s a bakery two minutes from the train station. There’s also no staffed reception, which suits me fine. Online check-in was no problem for me as a young, modern person. I slept on the station side with the window shut and didn’t hear the trains, though I’m a deep sleeper. If you need the window open to sleep or are a very light sleeper, the night train noise could be an issue. A clear 5/5 for a very specific group of people.

The rooms themselves were great and clean, but the heat made staying here unbearable in summer, especially on the second floor. There’s no air conditioning in the attic rooms, and airing them overnight is almost impossible without mosquito nets. With the window open, the station noise keeps you up; with it shut, the temperature can be over 28-30°C. Sleepless nights feel almost guaranteed. The electronic locks also weren’t reliable for me at first, even with the PIN I’d been given. For a few nights, I couldn’t keep two six-digit combinations straight. Room keys and a reception desk have their advantages, especially since you don’t see any staff during your stay.
