Unique Dortmund Hotel

I stayed from 15th to 17th march for a business trip. Unique Hotel Dortmund is centrally located and easy to reach by public transport, and the room looked clean, but the service was really disappointing. I’d told them through the booking platform that I’d arrive two hours before check-in, but got no reply. When I arrived, they said I could wait or pay another €25. The room became ready earlier, but they still wouldn't let me in because of “hotel policy.” That felt unreasonable after a 12-hour journey. Later, my colleague briefly closed his eyes in the lobby because he was exhausted, and the receptionist rudely told him that wasn't allowed. It was unnecessary and disrespectful. The reception staff were repeatedly unprofessional, with some very uncomfortable and questionable behavior. The room had no refrigerator or phone to call reception. When I asked, they brushed me off and blamed me for not checking beforehand. I also requested an iron, but it was dirty and damaged my shirts. Staff showed no interest in fixing the problem or taking responsibility. The stay was frustrating because of the poor service, missing basic facilities, and unwelcoming attitude. I wouldn't recommend the hotel.

The location is very good, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It’s a unique, cosy, clean hotel, with spacious rooms and comfortable beds.

The hotel is centrally located. Cross the boulevard and follow the main street, where there are plenty of shops and restaurants. The room was clean and spacious, with a large flat-screen TV and a bathtub, though there was no refrigerator.

We liked the location for shopping, eating, and going out, and the windows did a great job keeping downtown noise out. The hotel was very nice and clean. The one hassle was parking: if the garage is full, you have to find somewhere else, and it was full every night we stayed because we hadn't booked it in advance.
