Mercure Hotel Dortmund Messe

Breakfast was great and generous, and the staff were friendly. The room was well equipped, though there was no fridge, which wasn’t convenient. Some things are old, and the bed was okay. There’s a sauna and pool, but the pool was being renovated during our stay. The parking lot is too small, and after the room was cleaned we once found the cover on the floor.

We stayed here while exhibiting at the ADAC SIM expo, and the staff were all amazing and very helpful. The rooms and public areas were kept clean and tidy. Steven from the restaurant and bar really stood out. He went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable, was great to talk to, and nothing was too much trouble. Thanks from everyone at BDH Race SIM Hardware!

The hotel is right by the bvb club arena, and the windows give you a great view of it. It’s also close to a congress center and subway station. Service was nice, and the rooms were well maintained. The beds were okay, nothing special. Parking should be fine as long as there aren’t major events nearby.

There isn’t much around the hotel, though Strobles by the stadium is very good for food. I stayed in a privilege room with a balcony and slept well. The food was fine. Last year it was a buffet in the main restaurant; this year they served it in the bar. It was good, but once the bar got busy, it didn’t feel like a good place for a woman traveling alone. The pool and steam room were nice, though it was bizarre to go down at 10:30 p.m. and find kids and groups of men just standing in the pool. Sunday night was much better. One small annoyance: being tall, I turned the bathroom floor into a pool when I showered.
