Vienna House Easy by Wyndham Dortmund

I stayed at the hotel on the day I booked, but they still won't refund the booking I made by mistake. I was trying to get a room for that day with immediate check-in and accidentally booked for seven days later. Reception told me to cancel for a refund, then book again for the same day. I followed their instructions and cancelled within ten minutes, but now they refuse to refund the incorrect booking. Very bad service.

The rooms are nice, though kind of small, and the staff are pleasant. Breakfast in the morning is really good.

You can hear your neighbors talking or listening to things through the walls. They're not soundproof at all. And for a supposedly well-rated place, the reality was a big disappointment. The nice photos and ranking on the booking site convinced me to reserve it, but I wonder if bots were used to generate that rating. This feels like a room to sleep in overnight, not really a hotel. There isn't proper staff, and the people there were rude and unpredictable, with no understanding of customer service. There wasn't even an empty glass in the room for water, never mind other amenities, and no phone to call reception if I needed help. Just look at what you have to walk through to reach the room if you're expecting cleanliness or a pleasant atmosphere. I asked to cancel without being charged 90%, and they refused. I also asked to move to a better room and was refused again. What else can I say? 👎 I don't recommend this place!

The location is excellent, right by the train station and an easy walk to the city centre. Breakfast was nice and had some choice, and the rooms were spacious. Still, the stay was only adequate. There was no lock on the bedroom door, which felt unsafe even though you need a key card to get in from outside. Without a bath mat, shower water went all over the floor, and there was nowhere to put a toothbrush. The sink and desk still had stains after the room was cleaned. One receptionist was also very moody and unfriendly, with no smile or customer service skills, which was a shame.
