Hotel Elbflorenz Dresden

The rooms were incredibly clean, and the hotel has a lovely classic style. It's close to Dresden Old Town. Our booking was clearly for a large one-bedroom room, but reception gave us a twin and refused to change it without explaining why. The next day, a different receptionist eventually moved us into the room we'd booked. Service didn't meet the standard you'd expect from a star-rated hotel. At checkout, we also asked for a trolley to help with our luggage and were told that wasn't their job. The reception staff weren't very helpful and seemed reluctant to assist. Thanks for nothing!🙋🏻‍♀️❤️‍🩹

The hotel is within walking distance of Zwinger Palace and the Christmas markets, and our room was spacious. It's a lovely place, but there's no way to make tea or coffee in the room. I think every room should have that.

We parked on the street for free over the weekend, though the hotel also has convenient underground parking for €12. It was great value, about 15-20 minutes from the Old Town. After coming back from the Semperoper, we enjoyed the cosy little bar and its snacks. Highly recommended!

Breakfast was amazing, as was the bathroom and its shower. The bedding, towels, and amenities were all top notch, and the towels were especially big. Check-in was fast, and parking was convenient at 12€ a day. The room and service were superb. A couple of things management could improve: the breakfast staff hovered around the steps into the large dining room, so it felt like we were being watched while eating. The scrambled eggs were overcooked and tasted industrial, which isn't okay for a 4-star hotel.
