Gästehaus „Am Weberplatz“

The shower was broken while we were there, and the water temperature kept changing without warning. I nearly got burned taking an early morning shower. Breakfast was disappointing too, with little choice for €13.50. Bakeries outside offer much better breakfasts for less.

I stayed here for two weeks on business because it’s in the university area. The room was nice, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom clean. The WiFi worked very well, and the staff were kind and helpful when I needed plates, a fork, or a knife. My only room issue was that the table wasn’t cleaned during my stay. An electric kettle would’ve been a nice extra. Downtown is about a 30-minute walk away, though the bus stop is nearby and public transport runs often. I’d recommend it if you’re working in the area.

The rooms are huge, spotless, warm, and well equipped. Honestly, it beats a very expensive luxury hotel. Reception were really helpful with tram tickets and free maps, too. Lidl and netto are a three-minute walk away for pastries and other bits. The tram stop is no more than eight minutes away, then it’s a short ride to the Old Town center. Ethnic restaurants are about 20 minutes off across the river. I can recommend staying here.

The rooms were the biggest we’ve ever seen in a hotel, and cleaning was okay. Staff were friendly, though a bit chaotic, with some odd advice and requests. There was no reception number in the room and no WLAN information. All in all, it was okay, but too expensive for the place and its surroundings.
